Providence 5k!

This weekend my friend Mike and I decided that we were going to run a 5k for the Providence Police and the D-Strong Foundation. I do a lot of running/jogging to keep up with my endurance but I never ran a 5k before so this was all new to me. I practiced the week before by running about three miles a day sometimes less depending on how busy my day was. I didn’t think it was going to be hard at all because I run all the time so I knew it was going to be a good experience. The 5k took place in Providence on Sunday morning so I knew that I would still be a little tried so I made sure I got my energy. I had a Clif Bar for breakfast, I mixed my water with Herbalife CR7 (an endurance powder by Cristiano Ronaldo) and I had a Clif Bar energy shot. After all that I was ready for a three mile run. It was a good time for sure. There was one point in the run when my friend Mike was yelling at me to stop because I almost ran over a road kill bunny. I remember screaming loudly in disgust. If I stepped on the dead bunny everything would have be ruined for me. Good thing I had someone looking out for me! It was awesome running with people. There were fire fighters running in full gear that must have been sweating. There were also Providence Police cheering us on the entire way. We started getting really tired towards then end then we saw the three mile marker. We knew we were almost done so we speed up to make a cool entrance when crossing the finish line. It felt great to cross and have so many people cheering us on and knowing that we did it for a good cause. I will most certainly be running more 5k’s in future.

Here we are crossing the finish line!
